Principal’s Message

Our beautiful school was established in 1877 on the side of the Buchan Valley. The school has a family atmosphere where children learn and play with friends of all ages, supporting and teaching one another. New families are always welcome to the township and a feeling of welcoming warmth permeates through our community.

Our school has a culture that follows our three core values of creativity, commitment and caring. This allows our students to follow their passions in a supportive atmosphere and develop a love of lifelong learning. We encourage our students to take risks to develop new and bold learning from a sound core knowledge base of mathematics, reading and writing.

Our school offers subjects that feed the individuals creative needs. Music, art, ICT and PE specialist subjects are taught. Students are encouraged to find their own voice and experiment to further their understanding of the wider world.

Although we are an isolated community we have forged strong links with others schools in our local area. Camps, sporting competitions, excursions, special cluster days and teacher professional development all allow for our students to enjoy, share and experience activities and adventures with friends from other schools. These connections are of great importance when our students leave us to go onto secondary education. We encourage that students to have wider friendship groups at this very important time of their life.

We hope that you enjoy our website and feel free to drop in for a chat,a cuppa and a biscuit while wandering around our picturesque school.

Warmest Regards,

Clare Edwards

Principal
